We are a 5 year Lottery funded project to provide local opportunities in Kimberworth Park for young people, families and older people to:
- access 1:1 support,
- find out about and join in with new activities,
- access information,
- be more involved in community life,
- and be less alone.
We are part of Kimberworth Park Community Partnership, based at the Chislett Centre.
Our role is to meet and support people in ways that enable them to:
- Tell their own story
- Increase their awareness of the choices available to them
- Identify services and activities that meet their needs and interests
- Feel confident in their own abilities to build relationships that reduce their isolation
If you know someone who feels they are spending too much time alone or would just like to do more and would like someone to help, please get in touch with us. We can offer a friendly ear to listen, practical support and opportunities to get involved in local activities.
We are also looking for volunteers who would like to help support our project and gain new skills or experience.
Did you know?
Loneliness and social isolation are harmful to our health: research shows that lacking social connections is as damaging to our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day (Holt-Lunstad, 2010).
The referral process
If you would like support for yourself or to talk to us please just give us a ring, send an email or pop in to the Chislett Centre.
If you are from another organisation or service and you would like to refer someone you work with, please talk to the person about us and complete a referral form which is available from firstname.lastname@example.org and email the same address once completed. We will confirm receipt of the form and will contact the person who has been referred within 5 days.
